Fight Out Sickness
Why are we getting sick? What exactly is the true cause of diseases?
Have these questions arisen within us? Have we examined it right?
Louise Pasteur, around the year 1860 stated that germs cause disease, and the entire world believes and runs by it today. That’s why we are still trying to find something more and more to kill germs for our wellbeing.
There are so many advanced pharmaceutical industries that produce million tons of drugs every year to kill germs. Advertisements displayed by most of the soaps, health food and sanitizing companies assure that their products kill germs. The reasonable question here is, though we have thousands of such products, why didn’t we end up killing all germs from World?
It is because, the germs got used to the drugs prompting the drug manufacturers to increase the power of the drugs periodically, which in turn kills humans along with germs.
In nineteenth century, there was a nurse called Florence Nightingale who was also praised as “THE LADY WITH THE LAMP”. Florence Nightingale’s Environment Theory made a lot of difference in the nursing process. During the Crimean war, she was summoned by the British Government to attend the wounded soldiers. As soon as she reached the hospital, she found out that the environment there was very appalling. There was the raw sewage running down the hospital corridors and the plumbing didn’t work. The wounded soldiers had a better chance of life at the battle field than they had it inside the hospital.
The first thing what Florence Nightingale did was to start and assist her nurses in scrubbing and cleaning the place. She opened up all the windows and got men to assist the plumbing. All she did was improve the hygiene, sanitation and nutrition. The death rate of the wounded came down so quickly astonishing even the government. Florence Nightingale was hailed by everybody for her good work.
Germs are indirectly the absence of healthy environment. As the environment health is increased, the germs will get reduced proportionately.
Instead of making attempts to directly kill germs, efforts to build infrastructure that keeps germs under control would be a wise decision. Florence Nightingale's Environment Theory is a standing proof for all of us. Let us remember this and work together for CHANGE.
